/After Paul Klee #10, Linocut
Paul Klee is my favourite artist. In time-honoured tradition I used one of his paintings as a starting point to create what became a 3 colour linocut. Klee's painting lent itself well to lino, so that I could employ different marks and textures.
This is a limited variable edition of 21 prints. This print is #10 of 21 and one of Ali’s best sellers.

Klee's painting lent itself well to lino, so that I could employ different marks and textures. For this particular print of the edition I used a roller to create light around the sun.

/Jersey Boats #6, Linocut & mixed media
Inspired by Paul Klee, this is a limited edition linocut based on a simple initial sketch that I did of abstract sailing boats. I used small rollers to ink up the boats in a multitude of colours, before adding the blue sea/sky. The black line was added with ink once the prints had dried.
Jersey is a small island that's part of the British Isles but lying only 15 miles from France. New Jersey in the USA was named after this tiny island!

/topsham 3, monoprint & drypoint
Topsham is on the River Exe, downstream from Exeter and near the famous Exeter Ship Canal. The name Topsham probably derives from 'Topp', who was an Anglo-Saxon landowner.
I etched a perspex plate for the drawing and used a blank perspex plate for the colour. These are monoprints because each time I ink up the colour plate it is different. Topsham #3 is printed on 'Snowdon' quality cartridge.
